"The Peace and Social Action (PASA) Committee presents its first program in the series, "Friends in Social Action"at 9:20 am on 10/9. The series brings attention to our F/friends, active at LOFM, who wish to share something of their own spiritual journeys through social action. Catherine Mayfield will speak about her involvement in Stop Hunger Now Houston Stop Hunger Now (stophungernow.org), an organization with international scope and impact that addresses climate change and food shortages around the world and at home. Stop Hunger Now packages over a million meals each week for those in need. October is World Hunger Action month! Come and be inspired by Catherine's unfolding story of faith in action.

We are united in love and can accompany each other on this special day that draws us together. Seekers Gathering is an opportunity for anyone in attendance to ask a question about Quaker faith and practice, and to share our experiences on our spiritual journeys.
Linda Seger, visiting from Colorado Springs Friends Meeting, will explore the following question: How do we make spiritual decisions about our votes, particularly during such a contentious election season? Dr. Seger will discuss process, methods, reflections based on her book, Jesus Rode a Donkey: Why Millions of Christians Are Democrats, with some comments from her book Spiritual Steps in the Road to Success: Gaining the Goal without Losing Your Soul. Linda is the author of fifteen books. She will join us at 6:30-7:00 for snacks and visiting, and the Discussion Group will take place 7:00-8:15 pm, followed by Silent Worship.
