Candlelighting: Wed, Dec 18, 7:15 pm

By Kimberly Nelson - Posted on December 03 2013

During WWII and the subsequent Communist occupation of East Germany, many Christians were unable to practice their faith openly.  Some would light candles instead. Quakers lit candles as a token of unity with their friends in the darkness.  Now our Candlelighting can be an occasion to reflect on the past year and the one upcoming, to remember those who have gone before us, to hold in the Light those who are on our hearts and in our thoughts, and to be grateful.
